Candlelight Tours – Ft. Bend Museum

Bagley Pecan Harvest Festival

The City of Richmond and West Fort Bend Management District are reinstating the Pecan Harvest Festival to highlight the rich history of Bagley Pecans.  Celebrating the season’s harvest of pecans,  stately pecan trees of which are ubiquitous to the area.  Vendors and activities will be at the festival from 1:00- 6:00 pm, Sunday, November 20th.

Sugar Land Approves Annexation

The Sugar Land City Council approved plans to officially incorporate the communities of Greatwood and New Territory  on Tuesday, November 15, 2016. The annexation will increase Sugar Land’s population by 34% according to a press release on the city’s website. Residents of Greatwood and New Territory will gain enhanced public services, and current Sugar Land


Fort Bend Voting Trends Shift

  In this year’s Nov. 8 presidential election, Ft. Bend County experienced a swing in party preference, as well as an increase in early voter turnout from the 2012 election.  While Donald Trump was Texas’ candidate of choice, Fort Bend residents voted for Hillary Clinton by a nearly 7% margin.
